How to Automate Reddit to Google Sheets Leads?

Find useful lead conversations fast. The flow searches Reddit for posts about getting leads, checks if they describe a real business problem, then saves short summaries and links into Google Sheets for easy review. Great for growth teams, founders, and SDRs who prospect in online communities.

Here is how it works. A manual run starts a Reddit search in a chosen subreddit with a set keyword. Posts get filtered by features like upvotes and content. Key fields are selected, then an AI check decides if the post shows a problem or need. Another AI step creates a short executive summary. The data is merged and sent to Google Sheets as clean rows. You get a clear list of qualified posts with titles, links, upvotes, verdicts, and summaries, ready for outreach or research.

To set it up, connect Reddit, Google Sheets, and OpenRouter in n8n Cloud. Pick your sheet and adjust keywords, subreddit, and upvote rules. Expect faster research, better targeting, and a single source of truth for your team. Useful for B2B lead gen, SaaS validation, and freelancers scouting client needs.

What are the key features?

  • Reddit search pulls hot posts from a chosen subreddit using a specific keyword.
  • If nodes filter by upvotes and text content to remove noise and keep strong posts.
  • Set nodes map useful fields like title, link, subreddit, and upvotes.
  • AI check with an LLM decides if the post states a business problem or need.
  • Summarization creates short executive notes for each qualified post.
  • Merge nodes combine metadata, AI verdicts, and summaries into one record.

How do you set it up?

  1. Import the template into n8n: Create a new workflow in n8n > Click the three dots menu > Select 'Import from File' > Choose the downloaded JSON file.
  2. You'll need accounts with Reddit, Google Sheets and OpenRouter. See the Tools Required section above for links to create accounts with these services.
  3. Open the Reddit node. In the Credential to connect with dropdown, click Create new credential and follow the on screen steps to sign in to Reddit. If asked, use OAuth and approve the app.
  4. Open the Google Sheets node. In the credentials dropdown, click Create new credential and connect the Google account that owns your target spreadsheet. Grant access so n8n can read and write.
  5. Open each OpenRouter Chat Model node. Create a new credential and paste your OpenRouter API key from your OpenRouter dashboard. Save the credential.
  6. In the Reddit Get Posts node, set the subreddit and keyword. The template searches r/Entrepreneur with how do I find leads and hot sort. Adjust these to match your niche.
  7. In the Filter Posts By Features node, set your upvote minimum and any keyword rules that define quality. Keep case sensitivity in mind when editing conditions.
  8. In the Filter Posts By Content node, confirm the conditions that use the AI verdict. Only posts marked as a problem or need should pass through.
  9. Open the Google Sheets node and select your spreadsheet and worksheet. Keep auto map enabled or add column mapping to match your header row. Create a header row if you want fixed columns.
  10. Run a test using Execute workflow. Check the Google Sheet for new rows with title, link, upvotes, AI verdict, and summary. Fix any empty columns by updating field mappings in the Set nodes.
  11. If you see permission errors in Google Sheets, connect the correct Google account or share the sheet with the authorized account. If Reddit returns errors, slow the search or change keywords. If the AI fails, verify the OpenRouter API key.
