How to Automate Google Sheets Influencer Research?

Find the right people faster. The automation searches the web for list pages, pulls names and profile links, and saves clean records to Google Sheets. Useful for influencer outreach, speaker sourcing, or partner research.

It starts on a manual run. A Parameters step defines who you want to find and where. An Airtop extraction queries Google search for list pages and returns up to 10 clean titles and URLs. A small code step formats that output. For each URL, another Airtop extraction reads the page and pulls up to 20 people with name, handle or ID, and link. A dedupe step merges results from all sources and removes duplicates. Finally, rows are appended to Google Sheets with Name, URL, search context, and timestamp.

Setup is simple. You need Airtop and Google Sheets accounts and access to n8n. Change the search terms to fit your niche, run a test, and check the sheet. Expect a clear list you can act on for outreach, content planning, and community growth. Teams cut manual research time from hours to minutes and keep data tidy in one place.

What are the key features?

  • Manual start for quick testing and on demand runs
  • Simple parameters to set who you want and where to look
  • Airtop extraction finds non sponsored list URLs from Google search

  • Google Sheets append adds Name, URL, context, and timestamp

What are the benefits?

  • Reduce manual research from 3 hours to 10 minutes
  • Streamline prospect list building by about 70%
  • Improve data quality by removing duplicates and empty rows

How do you set it up?

  1. Import the template into n8n: Create a new workflow in n8n > Click the three dots menu > Select 'Import from File' > Choose the downloaded JSON file.
  2. You'll need accounts with Airtop and Google Sheets. See the Tools Required section above for links to create accounts with these services.
  3. In the n8n canvas, double click the Get urls node. In the Credential to connect with field, click Create new credential and follow the on screen steps to connect your Airtop account. If asked for an API key, create one in your Airtop account API page and paste it here. Name the credential clearly.
  4. Open the Get people node and select the same Airtop credential so both extraction steps use the same connection.
  5. In Google Sheets, create a spreadsheet and a tab to receive data. Keep the document open and copy its document ID from the URL.
  6. Double click the Add to spreadsheet node. In Credential to connect with, click Create new credential for Google Sheets and sign in with your Google account to approve access.
  7. Still in Add to spreadsheet, choose your document and sheet tab from the dropdowns. If you paste the document ID or sheet name, make sure they match the file exactly.
  8. Open the Parameters node. Set the who and where fields to match your search goal, such as the type of people and the platform or topic.
  9. Click Execute workflow to run a test. Check the Get urls output for a list of titles and URLs. If the list is empty, broaden who or adjust where.
  10. Open the Get people output and confirm each item has a name and a URL. If many fields are missing, try different keywords or use broader list pages.
  11. Inspect the Dedupe results output to verify that repeated names are removed. Confirm that only clean items flow to the next step.
  12. Run the full workflow and open your Google Sheet to confirm new rows appear with Name, URL, Who, Where, and Added on values.
  13. Troubleshooting: If Google Sheets fails to write, reconnect the Google Sheets credential and reselect the document. If Airtop returns no data, review the prompts and output schema in the Airtop nodes, then try again. If you still see duplicates, refine the dedupe logic or include handle as a unique key.
