How to Automate Bright Data Ad Insights?

Turn competitor reviews into ad ideas with a simple form and a few connected tools. Marketers paste a Trustpilot URL, pick a time range, and receive clear insights and ad copy in their inbox.

Here is how it works. A form collects the Trustpilot page and timeframe. An API call starts a Bright Data snapshot and waits until the data is ready. The flow then pulls the reviews, writes everything to Google Sheets, filters one and two star ratings, and combines the pain points into one text block. An OpenAI chat model turns those pain points into three Facebook ad versions and a short summary. Gmail sends the results and links to the team.

Setup is simple. You need a Bright Data API key, plus Google Sheets, Gmail, and OpenAI credentials in n8n. How do you set it up?

  1. Import the template into n8n: Create a new workflow in n8n > Click the three dots menu > Select 'Import from File' > Choose the downloaded JSON file.
  2. You'll need accounts with Bright Data, Google Sheets, Gmail and OpenAI. See the Tools Required section above for links to create accounts with these services.
  3. In the n8n credentials manager, create a Bright Data API Key credential. If unsure, double click the HTTP Request nodes, then on the 'Credential to connect with' dropdown click 'Create new credential' and follow the on screen instructions to add your API key from the Bright Data dashboard.
  4. Open the HTTP Request node that triggers the dataset and replace the Authorization header value with your Bright Data API key. Keep the dataset ID unless you use a different Bright Data dataset.
  5. Create an OpenAI credential in n8n. Use your OpenAI API key from the OpenAI dashboard. Select it in the OpenAI Chat Model node.
  6. Connect Google Sheets in n8n using Google Sheets OAuth2. In the Google Sheets node, paste the spreadsheet URL and select the target sheet where reviews should be written.
  7. Connect Gmail using Gmail OAuth2 in n8n. Select this credential in the Gmail node and set the To, Subject, and body fields as needed.
  8. Open the Form Trigger node and confirm the field labels for the Trustpilot URL and timeframe match your form settings. Keep the example placeholder to guide users.
  9. Run a test by opening the form URL, pasting a valid Trustpilot review page, and choosing a timeframe. Execute the workflow and watch the polling step until data is ready.
  10. Check Google Sheets to confirm new rows are created with the fetched reviews. If empty, verify the dataset ID, the URL format, and your Bright Data API key.
  11. Review the LLM prompt in the Basic LLM Chain node and add your brand details and offers so the ad copy matches your product.
  12. Confirm the Gmail email arrives with the summary and ad copy. If not, check Gmail credentials and your email sending limits.
